Training

Academic training is a key element of CEGA. Our goal is to educate advanced human capital at the highest level, who will be able to join the industry and academia in order to develop basic and applied research in geothermal energy, with special emphasis on the Andes and Latin America.

UNDERGRADUATE

CEGA is involved in the following activities:

• Geology undergraduate courses (University of Chile): “Geothermics Principles” and “Geothermal system alterations”
• Undergraduate thesis guidance on geothermal topics, related with disciplines such as geology, geophysics and engineering.

If you are interested in developing your thesis with us, contact one of CEGA`s researchers of your area of interest to discuss possible research topics.

POSTGRADUATE

Train postgraduate students at the highest level is a major goal to improve the knowledge about geothermal energy. This involve CEGA’s researchers from the University of Chile and The Pontifical Catholic University, who teach in different academic programs and supervising research initiatives developed by the students.

After five years of operations, the total number of post-graduate trained by CEGA is 75 (45 MSc and 30 PhD).

Our MSc students received funds by CONICYT, private companies and/or CEGA grant. For the case of PhD students, most have Conicyt grants.

• If you want to be part of CEGA`s associated students, you must be admitted in one of the following academic program and be interested in developing a thesis on geothermal topics.

SHORT COURSES

CEGA develop different specific short courses on topics related to geothermal energy.
