CEGA kicked off geothermal project with Liquiñe communityThursday, 18 de January
With funds from the regional government of Los Ríos, during January CEGA started the implementation of the project: “Application of direct use of geothermal energy in Los Ríos region: a technological innovation for the productive sector”. Geological, geophysical and geochemical studies will be developed to later work with the community in the construction of a productive focused pilot for the direct use of geothermal energy.
During 18 months, CEGA’s team will work to determine how to directly use geothermal resources in the area. “Our center was selected because of our experience in the development of geothermal direct use in the Aysén region. And now we have already completed the first field campaigns” said Diego Morata, CEGA director and coordinator of this proposal.
