Japanese delegation visits CEGA after being inspired by its scientific work

The academics of the Environmental System Research Laboratory of the Japanese University of Hokkaido Yoshitaka Sakata and Katsunori Nagano held a meeting with professionals of the CEGA Project Area on November 6th.

Asian experts presented a project funded by the Japanese government, which was inspired by the founding work of CEGA’s Project Area, which consisted of an estimate of low enthalpy geothermal resources for urban heating in the Santiago basin, to identify promising areas for the development of this energy. The visiting delegation presented the “Ground club cloud” project, which consists of an open online platform that provides information on 62 basins of the island regarding the subsoil conditions and what would be the best design for geothermal heat pumps in these areas .
