Research reveals high geothermal potential of groundwater in southern Chile

It’s strategic for Chile today to know the presence, origin, circulation and storage of groundwater. This is the main theme that the study led by researchers from the Center of Excellence in Geothermal of Los Andes (CEGA) and published by the Journal of Geochemical Exploration deepened. The paper shows the great geothermal power of hot springs in the Volcanic Zone of southern Chile, specifically in the Liquiñe-Ofqui Fault (LOFZ).
