During November our Center’s researchers presented in different international scientific events related to the development of geothermal energy.
New Zealand: The “41st New Zealand Geothermal Workshop” was held in the city of Auckland during the last week of November. CEGA director, Diego Morata; Outreach manager, Sofía Otero; and the PhD student (PUC) Daniel Elizalde, whose work “Geophysical imagining of the Liquiñe Geothermal site by means of 3D gravity inversion” was awarded as the best student poster of the event.
Latin America: During the week of November 18th, CEGA researcher Mauricio Muñoz participated in the IV International Conference on Energy R & D & I 2019, which was held in the city of Quito, Ecuador. This event is a global forum that brings together researchers, academics and company representatives to address innovation issues in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Between November 25th and 29th, the National Geothermal Meeting, RENAG 2019, was held in the city of Medellín, Colombia. Among the keynotes speakers were our researchers Linda Daniele and Sofia Vargas. Their exhibitions were: “Effect of geothermal projects on water quality in shared use aquifers” (Linda Daniele) and “Resistance to technological change: learning of projects of direct use of geothermal energy in southern Chile” (Sofia Vargas).
