CEGA postdoctoral research position

The Andean Geothermal Center of Excellence (CEGA) at the Department of Geology, Universidad de Chile (www.cega.ing.uchile.cl), invites applications for a Postdoctoral position in Hydrogeology (arid and semiarid areas recharge processes and modeling; fractured rock reservoirs; geothermal reservoirs simulations).
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct independent research as well as in collaboration with other researchers from the Center. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to (1) simulate and understand the factors controlling the spatio-temporal changes of reservoirs recharge and functioning, (2) establish models such that they are able to provide the support needed by decision-makers to promote a sustainable usage of geothermal reservoirs.
In addition to this, the postdoctoral researcher should present research results at scientific meetings, produce manuscript and submit to high quality peer-reviewed journals. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, ability to work independently, mentor and teaching undergraduate students are expected. Working knowledge of Spanish language is desirable and will be considered a plus.
Candidates are required to hold a Ph.D. degree at the time of application and the doctorate diploma should not be older than 3 years. Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals with advanced training either in hydrogeology, geochemistry (or a related discipline) and engineering with a genuine interest in direct use and low temperature geothermal systems research.
This is a full time position starting April 2018. The position is fully funded for one year term that could be renewed for two additional years based on candidate research results.
